What to bring
- Your ASC appointment notice, Form I-797C (bring all notices if you received more than one).
- Valid photo identification, such as a passport, green card or driver's license.
Do not bring weapons; federal law bans them at USCIS facilities (USCIS).
What happens at the appointment
You give fingerprints, a photograph and a digital signature on machines at the ASC. USCIS says your digital signature attests, under penalty of perjury, that your application and documents were complete, true and correct when filed. If you filed an I-765, USCIS also uses your biometrics to make your work permit card.
How to reschedule
Request it through your USCIS online account, before the original date and time, and show good cause, even if you only want a different location. Do not mail the request. Missing the appointment without rescheduling can lead USCIS to treat your case as abandoned.
What comes after biometrics?
For an I-485, usually an interview notice, an RFE, or a decision. Check whether your case is taking longer than normal with the USCIS processing time checker.
